2-Night SXS Overnighter Through the Hualapai Mountains
Get ready for an unforgettable desert-to-mountain adventure with the Shoreline to Skyline UTV Adventure. This 3-day, 2-night guided Side-by-Side expedition takes you from the shoreline of Lake Havasu into the rugged backcountry of Mohave County, climbing high into the Hualapai Mountains before looping through one of Arizona’s most historic mining towns.
This ride combines long scenic trail days, big elevation changes, incredible desert landscapes, and historic Western towns — all while traveling by UTV across some of the best off-road terrain in northwestern Arizona.
From the blue waters of Lake Havasu to the cool pine forests of the Hualapai Mountains, this adventure showcases the dramatic landscapes that make Arizona riding so incredible.
The Adventure Route
This 3-day expedition covers hundreds of miles of scenic backcountry trails connecting desert basins, mountain ranges, and historic towns.
Day 1
Lake Havasu → Kingman
We kick off the adventure along the desert trails surrounding Lake Havasu City, leaving the shoreline behind as we head northeast across wide open desert terrain toward the historic town of Kingman.
Expect fast desert sections, rugged mountain passes, and incredible views of the surrounding ranges as we climb toward the foothills of the Hualapai Mountains.
Kingman has deep roots in Route 66 history, offering great restaurants, western charm, and the perfect place to relax after an epic first day on the trail.
Overnight: Kingman
Day 2
Kingman → Chloride Loop
Day two takes us deep into the Hualapai Mountains and into one of Arizona’s most fascinating ghost towns — Chloride.
Founded in the 1860s, Chloride is the oldest continuously inhabited mining town in Arizona, and it still maintains its rugged Old West personality. We'll explore the surrounding trails, historic mining areas, and scenic mountain routes before looping back to Kingman for another night.
This day offers fantastic mountain riding, cooler temperatures, and amazing views across the desert valleys below.
Overnight: Kingman
Day 3
Kingman → Lake Havasu (Over the Hualapai Mountains)
Our final day is one of the most scenic rides of the entire adventure.
We climb high into the Hualapai Mountains, riding through cool forests and winding mountain trails before descending back toward the Colorado River basin.
From the mountains, we’ll drop back into the desert and return to Lake Havasu, completing an incredible shoreline-to-skyline off-road journey.
Expect sweeping views, exciting mountain trails, and the perfect finish to an unforgettable adventure.
Lodging Included
Your registration includes two nights of lodging in Kingman, allowing you to relax and enjoy the town after each full day on the trail.

What you must bring
Water: Staying hydrated is crucial, especially during off-road adventures. Pack enough water to last you throughout the day.
Spare Tire: Off-road terrain can be unpredictable. Having a spare tire is essential in case of punctures or other tire-related issues.
Spare CVT Belt: A spare Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) belt is essential for UTVs. It's a critical component, and having a spare can save you from being stranded.
Tools: Carry a basic toolkit with tools like wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and other essential tools for quick repairs on the trail.
Full Tank of Gas: Before each ride or day, ensure your UTV has a full tank of gas. Off-road trails can be remote, and having ample fuel is a must.
Highly Recommended:
Communication Radios: Communication radios are invaluable for staying connected with your group, especially in areas with limited cell reception. They enhance safety and coordination on the trails.
Cell Phone: While communication radios are essential, bringing your cell phone is still important for emergency situations. Ensure it's fully charged and protected from the elements.
These must-haves and recommendations will help ensure your UTV off-road adventures are safe, enjoyable, and well-prepared for any challenges that may arise during your journey.
