An Epic 3-Day, 2-Night UTV Adventure Through Utah’s Most Breathtaking Backcountry

Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime ride through the heart of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument — a remote, rugged, and stunningly beautiful landscape that few get to experience. This 3-day, 2-night journey covers a total of 200 off-road miles, with 100 miles each way between Big Water and Escalante, Utah, taking you across two completely different trail systems filled with breathtaking scenery, rich history, and wild desert terrain.

Scenery & Terrain Highlights:

• Explore two unique routes through the Grand Staircase — one on the way to Escalante and a completely different one on the way back
• Ride through desert washes, high ridgelines, sandstone canyons, and wide open plateaus
• Experience towering cliffs, remote rock formations, natural arches, and sweeping views of the monument’s layered landscape
• Optional second-day ride around Escalante offers even more exploration — or enjoy a relaxing day in town with food, shopping, or sightseeing

Itinerary & Lodging:

• Day 1: Depart Big Water and ride 100 miles through the backcountry to Escalante via a scenic off-road route
• Day 2: Choose between an optional ride exploring the Escalante area or enjoy a free day to relax and experience the charm of Escalante
• Day 3: Return to Big Water via a different 100-mile route with brand new sights and terrain

Lodging is included for 2 nights in Escalante, giving you a comfortable and convenient base between rides.

Three Days. Two Towns. One Epic Off-Road Journey.

Explore the spectacular landscapes of southern Utah on this fully guided three-day SXS adventure, starting in Big Water and heading to Escalante. Ride through breathtaking canyons, plateaus, and rugged trails that showcase the best of the Grand Staircase-Escalante region.

Day 1: Big Water to Escalante – 85+ Miles
Depart Big Water and navigate stunning desert terrain en route to the charming town of Escalante. This ride features a mix of slickrock, dirt trails, and scenic vistas—a true off-road playground that winds through iconic Utah landscapes.

Day 2: Relax or Ride the Hells Backbone Trail – Boulder Loop
Enjoy a day at your pace. Relax in Escalante or join us on a guided ride along the breathtaking Hells Backbone Trail to Boulder, Utah, for lunch. This route offers thrilling twists, towering cliffs, and panoramic views you won’t forget.

Day 3: Return to Big Water – New Route
Head back to Big Water via a completely different trail, exploring new sections of the Grand Staircase region. Experience fresh terrain, hidden canyons, and more unforgettable off-road challenges as you complete the loop.

The Grand Staircase SXS Experience delivers adventure, beauty, and variety—all wrapped into one incredible weekend.

Water: Staying hydrated is crucial, especially during off-road adventures. Pack enough water to last you throughout the day.

Spare Tire: Off-road terrain can be unpredictable. Having a spare tire is essential in case of punctures or other tire-related issues.

Spare CVT Belt: A spare Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) belt is essential for UTVs. It's a critical component, and having a spare can save you from being stranded.

Tools: Carry a basic toolkit with tools like wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and other essential tools for quick repairs on the trail.

Full Tank of Gas: Before each ride or day, ensure your UTV has a full tank of gas. Off-road trails can be remote, and having ample fuel is a must.

Highly Recommended:

Communication Radios: Communication radios are invaluable for staying connected with your group, especially in areas with limited cell reception. They enhance safety and coordination on the trails.

Cell Phone: While communication radios are essential, bringing your cell phone is still important for emergency situations. Ensure it's fully charged and protected from the elements.

These must-haves and recommendations will help ensure your UTV off-road adventures are safe, enjoyable, and well-prepared for any challenges that may arise during your journey.

Fuel Information

Fueling is convenient for this event:

• A gas station is located right next to the Rodeway Inn in Big Water for pre-ride fueling.
• When we arrive in Escalante, another gas station is available near the hotel to refuel before the return journey.
